Metadata and Tags

Media metadata is information associated with a media file submission, and can be added automatically or manually. Any custom fields added to your upload form will automatically appear in the metadata section once the file has been submitted.

To manually add or edit Metadata:

  1. Use the top nav to select > Media
  2. From the Media Overview page, double-click any media item
  3. On the Media Details page, click the downward arrow to the right of the Metadata title 
  4. Then click "Add". You can associate a media item with many metadata items
  1. Type the Metadata

Note: The first field is for the Metadata name and the second is for the data

For example: If a field in an application form is “Who is your agent?” and the short name for the form is 'agent', it would look like this:

  1. Click "Save".

Note:  To delete a metadata item, click the  button.

Tags

Tags help to organize your media items and make them searchable. You can add tags during the upload process or manually.

There are two methods of adding tags manually, using the Media Overview page (add tags in bulk) or using the Media Details page.

Adding Tags Using the Media Overview Page:

  1. In the Navigation bar, select > Media
  2. On the Media Overview page, click a media item

Note: If you edit the tags of media items on this page, all current tags will be deleted

  1. Under "Actions", in the Tag text box, type a word or words you would like to add as a tag

Note: You can add many tags at once by adding a comma between words

  1. To save the tag(s), click the "Add" button

Adding Tags Using the Media Details Page:

  1. In the Navigation bar, select > Media
  2. On the Media Overview page, double-click a media item
  3. On the Media Details page, click the Tags downward arrow
  4. Type a word (or words, separated by a comma)

  1. To apply the tags, click    

Note:  To delete a tag, click the  button
